Welcome to another exciting travel blog! In this edition, we’ll take you on a thrilling journey to Sandakphu, a picturesque destination nestled in the mighty Himalayas. What makes this adventure even more special is the mode of transportation – a Landrover! Buckle up and join us as we uncover the stunning natural beauty of Sandakphu while enjoying the exhilarating Landrover off-roading experience.
Sandakphu Base Camp in Lap of Nature
Day 1…
Our expedition begins with a scenic drive from Njp to Rangit Majua Basty. The base camp at Rangit Majua Basty is located just 5 km away from Manebhanjan. Here, we find ourselves surrounded by dense forests and the soothing sound of a nearby river. The homestay at Rangit Majua offers a perfect blend of comfort and tranquility, providing an ideal starting point for our adventure.
Aahl – The Land of Clouds
Day 2…
Leaving the base camp behind, we make our way to Aahl, a small village situated at the India-Nepal border, only 2 km from Sandakphu. Unlike the more popular and congested Sandakphu, Aahl offers a serene and unexplored environment. As we navigate the rugged terrain in our Landrover, the thrill of off-roading is complemented by the magnificent views of the Kanchenjunga range. Aahl, often referred to as the land of clouds, as we ascend to higher altitudes, we are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga, Sleeping Buddha Range, Three Sisters, and even Everest from a single vantage point. Aahl truly captures the essence of untouched nature.
Tumling – way back from Sandakphu
Day 3…
On our way back from Sandakphu, we make a stop at Tumling, a picturesque mountain village tucked away in seclusion. With its small population of Nepali families, Tumling welcomes us with open arms. Here, we have the opportunity to witness the majestic beauty of Kanchenjunga up close. The accommodation options range from homestays to tents, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the true spirit of adventure.
